We're seeking a enthusiastic Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team!

Role: Community Engagement Officer 

Reporting to: Managing Director 

Location: Northumbria and Home based 

Salary: £26,000 pro rata 

Hours: 14 hours/week 

Contract type: Part Time- Ends 31st March 2025

Our Vision: To help prevent what happened to Alice happening to others. To bring stalking to an end.  

Our mission: To foster generations of young people who understand stalking, the potential risks of stalking, and what they can do about it. 

Background to the role

Building on our strong reputation for quality education resources about stalking, Alice Ruggles Trust has created a school assembly package, suitable for Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 students. Working with Northumbria police force we are rolling this assembly out across schools in Northumbria. 

About the role

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are to ensure the successful delivery of assemblies in 20 schools across the Northumbria region. This includes delivering the assembly directly as well as coordinating volunteers to deliver. The successful candidate for this role will act as the first point of contact for enquiries into the assembly project, will work alongside volunteers to deliver sessions and support the wider team with general administrative duties. The role will also include responsibility for external communication with local schools; outreach across Northumbria; volunteer recruitment and training; and carrying out DBS checks. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on developing effective working relationships with a wide range of people 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally 
  • Confidence in building rapport with local schools and volunteers with an enthusiastic approach 
  • Assured ability to deliver presentations comfortably in front of a large group of people 
  • Experience of recruiting, training and providing continuous support to volunteers 
  • Proficiency in organisational and administrative tasks, with good attention to detail and efficient time management 
  • Assured ability to deliver presentations comfortably in front of a large group of people
