Our 2026 conference
will take place on
Wednesday, 4 November and Thursday, 5 November 2026
at the
Trent Conference Centre in Nottingham
This very special conference will see us reflect on the progress that has been made to prevent and respond to stalking in the 10 years that have passed since Alice was murdered by her stalker.
We have an incredible line-up of speakers, true industry experts and academics, who will share their latest research and best practice guidance from right across the varying sectors that must continue to improve in the fight against stalking.
This year, on the first evening of our conference, we will also be hosting a legacy ball to celebrate the legacy that Alice has left behind.
About our conferences
Each autumn we hold a conference where we bring together criminal justice, health service and third sector professionals with academic criminologists and psychologists. We believe that forging strong links between practitioners and academics is vital in order to improve strategies for protecting stalking victims and managing perpetrators.
Our annual conferences have become a highlight in the stalking calendar for many people—an opportunity to network, learn from others and explore partnership opportunities. Each year’s programme is designed to ensure there are plenty of choices to improve people’s own work and deepen their understanding of different topics.
Our aim is to provide plenty of space and time to connect with others working in similar and complementary roles.

In addition to our main speakers, discussion groups and panels take place across both days giving attendees the chance to explore topics in more depth, have open discussions, and listen to conversations between experts.
Attendees (both in-person and online) also have a choice of workshops on both days.
Our speakers, workshop chairs and discussants provide examples of best practice across the board, in education, safeguarding, and criminal justice.
This year’s conference
As always, our two-day conference will feature a range of excellent talks, workshops, and panels.
This year we have three very special keynote speakers lined up:
Professor Troy McEwan from Swinburne University in Melbourne, who this year will be joining us in person
Professor Jane Monckton-Smith from the University of Gloucestershire
and Richard Wright KC, the barrister who has been leading the government’s independent review on stalking legislation

Venue
The 2026 conference will be held, as last year, at the large Trent Conference Centre in Nottingham. There is plenty of free car parking, or the centre is reached within a few minutes by tram from Nottingham rail station.
Accommodation
We recommend booking overnight accommodation at the nearby Premier Inn Nottingham Castle Marina or Holiday Inn Nottingham.
Further hotel accommodation is available in the city centre, which can be easily reached by tram or bus.
Legacy Ball
This year, on the first evening of our conference we will be hosting a legacy ball to which supporters, fundraisers, family, and friends are being invited along with conference participants.
We will also be holding a short award ceremony to present the winners of our annual Alice Ruggles Trust awards.
