The Alice Ruggles Trust is looking to fill two Trustee vacancies early in 2026.
We are seeking one Trustee who will act as our Treasurer and a second with particular interests or experience in safeguarding, preferably in an education setting.
We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our Board. Our Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings but also, as we are a small charity, to be actively involved at other times.
(Sometimes our Trustees go above and beyond! The picture shows one of our Trustees, Mark Haggan, hosting an awards ceremony at our annual conference.)
As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer maintains an overview of the Alice Ruggles Trust’s financial affairs. They ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
Trustees are appointed for a 3-year term of office, renewable for a further 3-year term. These are voluntary positions, although reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Previous governance experience is not essential (we will provide support).
Further details and application information can be found on the Charity Job website, here.
The closing date is Friday 16 January, 2026.
