Please support our Great North Runners!

The GNR is always special for us and this year we have four runners fundraising for us. Please support them!

“I first learned about the Alice Ruggles Trust after attending a training session where Clive Ruggles spoke about his daughter, Alice. I found it deeply moving and came away having learned a great deal. The more I have learned about the charity, its mission and the work it does, the more interested  I have become about supporting it.”

Corrie knew Alice as a family friend when they and their siblings were all children.

“For the past 18 months I’ve worked for the Alice Ruggles Trust and during that time I’ve learned so much about the reality of stalking and the devastating impact it can have on people’s lives. Running 13.1 miles feels very small compared to the importance of this cause, but I’m so proud to be doing it for the Trust this year.”

“This year I’m running the Great North Run for a cause that truly matters—supporting those affected by stalking and controlling behaviour. After seeing the impact of such a tragedy on someone close to me, I want to do something positive. Every step is for awareness, prevention, and hope for a safer future.”

We are really sorry that Bethany has had to pull out because of work commitments. Perhaps next year…?

The Trial

The trial really was an ordeal to be got through. Our family liaison officers had warned us that it would seem as though it was designed for “the accused” and the presumption of “innocent until proved guilty “might make us feel that it was biased against Alice.
