All donations are hugely welcome, but we are especially grateful for regular donations. These are a lifeline for us, as they enable us to do longer-term planning.

Fundraise

Fundraising activities and events provide lump sums which we can use for specific projects such as our information videos and social media output.

Over the past few years, fundraisers have run, cycled, swum, or walked across the country or up mountains to raise money for us, while others have organised fun days, football events, and lunches.

Here are just a few examples:

  • Our five runners in the Great North Run 2022 raised £2,173
  • CUSU Sport Coventry supported us at their Varsity 2022 event and raised £2,696
  • And during lockdown we ran a “24forAlice Challenge” that was hugely successful, raising no less than £22,338!

We launched the #24forAlice challenge in October 2020 to enable people to achieve a personal goal during the pandemic while also supporting our vital work. It ran for 24 months and raised an incredible £22,338 in total. People could choose their own challenge, which could be just about anything provided that it involved the number 24. We had people walking, running, cycling, swimming and rowing, for 24 (or even 240!) km or miles or minutes, over 24 days, or for 24 hours continuously, while others were producing 24 podcasts or tiktoks, making 24 craft items, losing 24 lbs, and much more.

It was so much fun and so successful, in fact, that we have just relaunched it

Many other fundraisers, including another five Great North Runners, will be out and about in the coming months. Watch this space!

Host an event

Every year, British Fencing hold an open Épée tournament in Leicester in memory of Alice, who loved fencing. We have also had football events, and the Alice Ruggles Trust has been chosen to be the Charity Partner for the BUCS annual mascot race organised by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) at its “BUCS Nationals” event in Sheffield.

Are you interested in hosting an event? If so, please
